Trump pulls security clearances for Kamala Harris, Hillary Clinton

Trump Revokes Security Cle

arances for Harris, Clinton, and Others

BRIDGEWATER, New Jersey, March 21 (Reuters) – President Donald Trump revoked security clearances for former Vice President Kamala Harris, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and several others in his latest move against political opponents.

The Republican president, who previously stripped former President Joe Biden of his clearance, also targeted former Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Republican ex-Representative Liz Cheney, and former Biden national security adviser Jake Sullivan. The list includes Fiona Hill, a Russia expert who served on Trump’s National Security Council, as well as whistleblower attorney Mark Zaid and former Republican lawmaker Adam Kinzinger.

In a memorandum issued late Friday, Trump stated that these individuals no longer require access to classified information, citing national interest concerns. The move, though largely symbolic, underscores the deepening political divide as Trump continues to take action against his critics.

The announcement came just hours after Trump arrived at his Bedminster, New Jersey, golf property for the weekend.

Traditionally, former U.S. presidents receive intelligence briefings to provide insight on national security matters. However, in 2021, Biden revoked Trump’s access to classified intelligence.
